Kevin and Paula Herbel of Durham announce the birth of a daughter, Calabria Grace, born Jan. 24 at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge.

She weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 21 inches long.

Her siblings are Aaron, 17, Danea, 16, Joshua, 15, Caleb, 12, Jacob, 9, Karina, 7, and Jeremiah, 4.

Maternal grandparents are the late Melvin and Neva Lolling.

Paternal grandparents are Willis and Eleanor Herbel of Tampa.

Loewen.Dean.jpg Loewen.Dean.jpg Josie Loewen of Moore, Okla., and Murray Dean of Oklahoma City were married at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at First United Methodist Church in Moore.

Pastors Wayne Pearson and Randy Little officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Charles and Mary Loewen of Hillsboro. The groom is the son of Bill and Marsha Dean of Katy, Texas.

The bride wore a strapless gown with the bodice decorated with crystals, beads and a shirred empire band. The A-line skirt with draped front overskirt was lined with matching beads. The dress featured a corset-back closure and cascading crystals on a chapel-length train.

She carried a clutch bouquet of pink, coral and burgundy roses, dahlias, calla lilies, wax flower, hydrangeas, alstromerias and berries...

April Funk and Tyler McKim, both of Red Bluff, Calif., announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Parents of the bride-elect are Kurt and Ruth Funk of Hillsboro. Parents of the groom-to-be are Tim and Bernadette McKim of Red Bluff.

The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Hillsboro High School and a 2007 graduate of Tabor College with a business administration and accounting/finance and management degree. She is employed with Sierra Pacific Windows.

The groom-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Red Bluff High School and a 2007 graduate of Tabor College with a health and physical education and sports management degree.

The couple will be married April 19 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.Yoder...

Kathleen Ann (Woelk) Gray, 58, of Colorado Springs, formerly of Hillsboro, a nurse, died Feb. 11.

She was born July 1, 1949, to Harold and Lou Woelk in Goessel. In 1971, she was married to Raymond Gray, who survives in Colorado Springs.

She is also survived by a daughter, Amy and Bill Sharrah of Nunn, Colo.; a son, Brian Gray of Falcon, Colo.; her parents of Hillsboro; a brother, Jim and Rachel Woelk of Gunnison, Colo.; and a granddaughter, Amber.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established with Pikes Peak Hospice of Colorado Springs, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Ste. 600, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

Esther W. Loy, 81, elementary school teacher, died Feb. 4 at Memorial Hospital in McPherson.

The funeral was Feb. 8 at Moundridge United Methodist Church. She was buried at Mound Township Cemetery, Moundridge.

She was born Dec. 19, 1926, to Phillip and Elsie (Bruns) Bentz in Tampa. On Aug. 24, 1947, she was married to Harvey S. Loy, who survives.

She is also survived by a brother, Otto Bentz of Tampa; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial funds have been established with Moundridge United Methodist Church or the Arthritis Foundation.
