Those receiving commodities are asked to contact their local site for a distribution schedule.
If there are no commodities left at a specific site, call the Marion County Department on Aging at 620-382-3580 to find out where commodities are available.

of Herington, part owner and operator of an oil company, died Oct. 2 at McPherson.
Services were Oct. 8 at St. John Lutheran Church, 220 Sixth St., Lincolnville, with pastor Alan Stahlacker officiating.
Burial was at Lost Springs Cemetery.
He was born March 3, 1926, to Fred A. and Jennie M. (Peterson) Carlson in Herington. On Sept. 19, 1949, he was married to Delores E. Miltz, who predeceased him Nov. 29, 1996.
Survivors include sons Kenneth Carlson and Michael Carlson, both of Hillsboro and Robert “Bob” and Brenda Carlson and Kevin and Roxanna “Rocky” Carlson, both of McPherson; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Justine Erb and Kyle Unruh were married at 5 p.m. June 2 at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson, Neb.
The bride is the daughter of Scott and Cindy Erb of Henderson and the granddaughter of George and Danelda Brenneman and Arlyce and Myron Friesen.
The groom is the son of Duane and Karen Unruh of Goessel and the grandson of Betty Schmidt and Hilda Unruh.
The bride was escorted by her parents and pastors Steve Schmidt and Andrea Wall officiated.

Our business meeting is the third Wednesday of each month and this month will be Oct. 17.
Haris Zafar will also be here beginning at 11 a.m. Oct. 17 for hearing aid checks.
We need volunteers at the center and Meals on Wheels drivers, too.
Anyone who helps will get a free meal the day they volunteer.

The Marion County Department on Aging is providing assistance to older adults interested in comparing and enrolling in 2013 Medicare prescription drug plans.
Open enrollment is from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.
Gayla Ratzlaff, coordinator, will be available to take appointments from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday,
Barb Smith, a volunteer with Senior Health Insurance Counseling For Kansas, will take walk-ins every Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to noon at the Marion Senior Center starting Wednesday, Oct. 24.
