The Marion County Department on Aging will be coming to Goessel City Building to help individuals compare and enroll in Medicare Prescription Drug Plans for 2013.
Gayla Ratzlaff, department coordinator, will be available to help individuals from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 2, and Friday, Nov. 16.

Cards invited for Stinchcomb’s 92nd
Family members are inviting friends and acquaintances of Charles F. Stinchcomb to participate in a card shower on the occasion of his 92nd birthday Oct. 31.
Making the request are his children and their spouses: Charlene and Ralph W. Janzen; Charles (Chuck) and Barbra Stinchcomb, Mike and Emma Stinchcomb, Susie and Richard Mueller and Blaine and Bonnie Stinchcomb.

Francis and Mary (Seiler) Jirak of Tampa will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 27.
Everyone is invited to attend festivities in their honor, including a polka dance starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Tampa Senior Center.
The couple were married Oct. 28, 1972, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich, then moved to rural Tampa after their wedding. After living in town for a few years, they moved to their current residence outside of town so Francis could fulfill his dream of owning his own farm.
Francis retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 35 years and continues to raise crops and livestock. Mary keeps busy as a farmer’s wife, and is the head of the PSR program...

The memorial service was Oct. 21, at Goessel Mennonite Church with pastor Robert Yutzy officiating. A private burial was at Goessel Mennonite Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 13, 1926, to Menno and Edna Epp Dirksen at Moundridge. On Sept. 4, 1947, she was married to Otto Bartel, who predeceased her in 2004.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol and husband Ron Hartzler of Wichita, Bev and husband Roger Claassen of Plymouth, Neb., and Jolene Dirksen of Newton; a brother, Larry and wife Marybeth Dirksen of Anaheim, Calif.; sister-in-law Francis Dirksen of Marion; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Tyler and Cheri Weinbrenner of Inman announce the birth of their daughter, Keely Jade, July 3 in Newton.
She weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 201?2 inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Dan and June Mount of Hillsboro. Lois Stowell of Hutchinson is Keely’s great-great-grandmother.
Paternal grandparents are Doug and Colleen Weinbrenner of Hillsboro. Paternal great-grandparents are Richard and Kathy Dirks of Hillsboro, Don and Joyce Weinbrenner of rural Hillsboro and Pat Ford of Newton.
