• ellen e. darrow, 93,co-owner and bookkeeper of Aulne Grain, died Nov. 12 at her home in Marion.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Aulne United Methodist Church, 140th and Pawnee, rural Marion.
Visitation with family is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion. Burial will be at Marion Cemetery.

Hillsboro couple to celebrate 65thRaymond and Sylvia (Unruh) Abrahams of Hillsboro will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 25 at 1 Park Ave., Hillsboro.
They were married Nov. 30, 1947, at Hillsboro First Mennonite Church. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1980 and his wife was a homemaker. The couple have lived in Hillsboro since their marriage.
In addition to their vocations, both have given time to church and other groups. He has enjoyed restoring and driving a 1932 Chevrolet Cabriolet. She likes playing table games, sewing and quilting.

Marion library to sponsor home tourMarion City Library will sponsor its annual Christmas Home Tour from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.
Homes on the tour include Garry and Sharlyn Dunnegan, 41 Lakeshore, Marion County Lake (formerly Kingfisher’s Inn); Scott and Rolana Heidebrecht, 219 N. Third St.; Vickie Kraus, 307 Elm St.; Bruce and Belinda Skiles, 1914 Quail Creek Road, Highway 256 and refreshments at the library, 101 Library St.
Tickets are $5 and available at the library or at each home the day of the tour.

hillsboro senior centerWe would like to thank everyone for supporting our center Saturday for the community breakfast.
We served about 140 people and the proceeds will help with daily expenses.
Becky Hines from Rivercross Hospice will be here Nov. 7 to provide a program after the noon meal.
Show ‘n Tell is Nov. 9 and we are encouraging everyone to bring something special to share with us.
I am sorry to report we are full for our Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 16. We had a number of people sign up early and we are at our limit.
We still need volunteers and substitute Meals on Wheels drivers.
Anyone who volunteers will get a free meal the day they volunteer.
We hope you can come and join us.

• michael a. baker, 55,of Overland Park, died Oct. 31.
He was born Aug. 2, 1957, to Arnold and Rita Baker in Dubuque, Iowa. He was married to Kathryn Bowring.
Survivors include son Kristoffer and Stacy Baker; step- daughters Whitney Washmon Darcy and Debra Flores and William McCauley; seven grandchildren; sister Andrea and Steve Bucini; two nieces and three grandnephews.
