of Marion, and a manager at C-Mart, died Nov. 27.

She was born Oct. 29, 1937, to Floyd and Velma Bogart Bredemeier in Marion. On Feb. 12, 1956, she was married to Merle Bruner, who survives.

Other survivors include daughters Cathy and Rick Cleeton of Marion and Cristi and Frank Soyez of Cedar Point; sisters Beverly Jirak of Marion and Roberta Warren of Carrollton, Mo.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and formerly of Hillsboro, died Nov. 21.

Library offering used books for sale

Hillsboro Public Library will be having a used-book sale in the hall outside of the library through Dec. 21.

All books are priced at $1 each. Selections will change on a daily basis.

“Hillsboro public library believes a book is a gift you can use again and again,” said librarian Cathleen Fish.

Proceeds from the book sale will be used to purchase new books for the library.

 

Silent auction to benefit charities

A silent auction for gift baskets benefiting local charities is taking place until Dec. 15.

Baskets are located in businesses around Hillsboro. A list of locations is available in participating businesses.

Proceeds will be donated to the winner’s choice of Main Street...

Justin and Amanda Dameron of Marion announce the birth of their daughter, Reagan Elizabeth Dameron, born Oct. 24 at Newton Medical Center.

She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 19 inches long.

Reagan was welcomed home by brother Kael, 2.

Maternal grandparents are Gary and Elaine Ewert of Marion.

Paternal grandparents are Don and Nicky Hastings of Baxter Springs and Jerry and Kim Dameron of Chanute.
