Abilene Busick

 

Darren and Jocelyn Busick of Hays announce the birth of their child, Abilene Valentine Busick, born March 13.

Abilene weighed 10 pounds and was 21 inches long.

Grandparents are Bill and Connie Busick Depew and the late Pinky Busick of Hutchinson.

The center is having a program about hoarding Wednesday, May 22, presented by Gayla Ratzlaff, director of the Marion County Department on Aging.

Memorial Day is Monday, May 27, and we will be closed. Anyone who would like a frozen meal for that day is asked to let us know ahead of time so that meals can be picked up by Friday, May 24.

Justina Neufeld will be here May 30 to talk about her book, “Family Torn Apart.” It might also be a good day to enjoy a meal, too.

Chair massages will be available June 5. If interested, stop by or call.

In addition, Mary McFadden of Peabody will provide foot care June 11 by appointment.

Menus for June can be picked up soon.

• Levi brown, 88,

died May 11 at Peabody Care Center.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Jost Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Hillsboro.

Burial will be at Durham Park Cemetery in rural Durham.

He was born Sept. 1, 1924, to Michael and Lena (Muth) Brown in Newrockford, N.D. On Oct. 3, 1942, he was married to Georgia Dick, who survives.

Other survivors include son Jerald and Almadona Brown of Hillsboro; daughter Jo Ann and Mark Taku of San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hillsboro American Legion Post 366 and sent in care of Jost Funeral Home P.O. Box 266 Hillsboro, KS 67063.

Zion Lutheran Church plans VBS

WRAPS meeting planned June 4

 

A public meeting regarding WRAPS will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, in the Marion Community Center.

The meeting will include a tour of the watershed and presentations by WRAPS coordinator Peggy Blackman, Tom Stiles, Ed Carney, Environmental Quality for KDHE; Bobbi Wendt, Neosho Basin adviser; and Phil Barnes, KSU Biological and Agricultural engineering.
