“The Passing Zone,” John Wee and Owen Morse, is coming to the McPherson Opera House at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19.
The Los Angeles Times described their act as: “Classy…jaw dropping and hilarious…Wee and Morse light up the stage with remarkably complex club-juggling and a steady stream of genuinely comic banter.”
After the duo played High Point University in North Carolina, a reviewer wrote: “Absolutely hilarious and entertaining. Perfect for all ages—ideal for an evening of great laughs and awe-inspiring entertainment shared with family and friends.”
“I saw John and Owen perform last year at the Midwest Arts Conference in Minneapolis,” John Holecek, Opera House executive director, said. “I was impressed and immediately booked the show. We always try to include a family-friendly show every season, and ‘The Passing Zone’ absolutely fits the bill.
“Students and kids get in for $10, so this is a show the whole family can afford. You’ll be kicking yourself if you miss it.”
“The Passing Zone” has been awarded five Guinness World Records and 18 Gold Medals from the International Juggler’s Association.
They were recently presented with that organization’s Award of Excellence, for “excellence in the art of juggling through professional performance,” which is the most prestigious award in juggling (essentially the Juggling Hall of Fame), given to only 13 acts worldwide since the organization’s inception.
“Passing Zone” protégé Joshua Casey will be taking the place of Owen Morse, who is recuperating from a broken heel.
