Senior Citizens board invites nominations of veterans

The board of directors of Senior Citizens of Marion County is seeking nominations of veterans who served during World War II and the Korean War.

The board intends to honor veterans of the two wars during the organization’s annual meeting Oct. 18 in Hillsboro.

Nominees should meet the following criteria:

• be a Marion County resident or be an active participant in a Marion County senior center;

• received an honorable discharge from the U.S. military;

• be willing to attend the SCMC annual meeting in Octo­ber.

Anyone can submit a nomination. Forms are available at local senior centers or through the Marion County Department on Aging, 620-382-3580.
