Tabor College will host a family and parent weekend Feb. 17-18.

Multiple performances of “Steel Magnolias” by Tabor’s theater program will be held during the weekend.

“Expect plenty of laughter and a bit of heartbreak from six small-town Louisiana women who spend a good deal of time together in Truvy’s Beauty Parlor,” said Judy Harder, director. “They deal with whatever life sends their way, adding doses of spice and humor whenever possible.”

Along with the theater production, both men’s and women’s basketball teams will compete against the University of St. Mary Saturday.

A parent brunch with President Jules Glanzer and a legacy picture for students and alumni will take place Saturday morning. A hotdog lunch will be available Saturday with four different kinds to choose from.

“We are looking forward to families visiting our campus,” said Marlene Fast, director of alumni. “If you attended Tabor, bring your son or daughter along for our legacy picture. Students receive a free T-shirt for joining us.”

A package deal for the weekend is available for $15 per person. It includes brunch, lunch and drama and basketball admission. Individual tickets can be purchased for the drama production, lunch and basketball games.

To reserve tickets or purchase packages, call 620-947-3121 ext. 1704 or e-mail alumni@tabor.edu.
