In a field of 16 teams, the Centre golfers placed 13th at the Saint Mary’s Invitational on Tuesday.
Kacey Hanschu, Ryan Richmond, Josh Olsen, Heath Hill, Jacob Jennings and Trevor Troutt combined to score 396.
Wamego claimed first place at 323 strokes, followed by Sabetha (324) and Jefferson West (331).
Trout led the Cougars with a score of 95, which put him 45th out of 96 golfers. Hill shot 99, Jennings and Richmond 101, Olsen 109 and Hanschu 113.
The Cougars split into two squads Thursday at the Council Grove junior varsity tournament. The team of Jennings, Hill, Troutt, Olsen, Richmond and Hanschu shot 399 and placed third.
Centre’s second team—Stephen Kaiser, Tye Remy, Canh Antoszyk, Andy Carlson, Justine Jennings and Seth Stroda—finished eighth.
Jennings placed fifth among 50 competitors with a 93.
