First ‘Taborstock’ is all-day music event

In 1969, a legendary three-day music and art festival called Woodstock occurred in New York. Nearly four decades later, Kansas’ own Taborstock is born.
Taborstock is a free, all-day music event planned for Saturday, April 28. It will feature rock, rap and more, plus games, an inflatable obstacle course, giveaways and food, said Emily Jones, a Tabor College senior from McPherson and an organizer of the event.
The activities will begin at 10 a.m. with a performance by Tabor’s student-led ministry team, i268. Other artists scheduled to perform include Landon Ray Tucker, The Radiance Effect, Echo the Sky, The Sweet Surrender, Tyler Clarensau, Chasing Eleanor, K-Drama, SP&D Band, Abandon Kansas and Stephen Speaks.
The concerts will take place on the lawn between Dakota Hall and the Business Studies Building, so those planning to attend should bring lawn chairs and blankets. If it rains, the event will be moved to the gymnasium, in the Student Center.
A concession stand will be open all day, and pizza will be served in the evening. Guests may also purchase meals in the cafeteria. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served.
Everyone is welcome to attend, although the targeted ages are high school, college and young alumni.
Taborstock is “a crossroads event” so all students of colleges within the Associated Colleges of Central Kansas (ACCK) are invited.
