Birthday celebrants at the Senior Center for the July birthday party on Monday were: Harry and Verna Decker, Elfreda Fast, Irma Koop, Rosemary Freeman, Elma Klein, Francis Groening, Rosella Thomas, Lucilla Funk and Connee Willis. Larry Hatteberg's "Kansas People of the City" was the video program shown following the lunch. An interesting video: "Record Ride for the Pony Express" is on the program for Thursday, Aug. 2 after the noon meal. This video recounts the adventure of Bob Haslam, a teen-ager who rode 380 miles in 36 hours. The video, "Achieving a Healthy Back" with tips for preventing and treating back pain, will be shown Monday, Aug. 6 at the Senior Center. Wednesday, Aug. 8 is Entry Day of the Marion County Fair. Exhibits will be accepted in the Senior Division from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Judging will be completed that day. Bring your entries to the Senior Center and we will enter them for you. Let's have a good senior exhibit. Those who gave of their time at the Senior Center last week included: Kitchen: Gladys Jantz, Velda Hiebert, Irma Groening, Judy Malin, Erma Pankratz, Mildred Harding, Mariann Unruh, and Fern Unruh. Meal delivery: Pearl Hadley and Wilbur Hanneman. FISH transportation: Helen Fadenrecht, Malinda Suderman, Helen Schmidt, and Eldon Knak. MENU No Hillsboro Menu available at press time. Goessel Senior Center MENU Wednesday, August 1 Program:Bethany Amstutz BBQ beef on bun, macaroni salad, creamy cucumbers, cantaloupe.       Thursday, August 2 Oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, wheat roll, ice cream. Friday, August 3 Smothered steak, vegetable noodle casserole, peas and onions, wheat roll, raspberry poke cake. Monday, August 6 Swiss steak, au graten potatoes, spinach or peas, wheat roll, butterscotch brownie. Tuesday, August 7 9:00 a.m.: Foot care 9:30 Blood pressures taken Lasagna, green beans and pimento, garlic bread, hot fruit compote.
