Howard R. Riggs

 

Howard R. Riggs, 80, died Saturday, Oct. 4, at his home in Burns.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 10, at Burns United Methodist Church, Burns. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time. The full obituary will be published in the Oct. 15 issue.

Funeral arrangement are with Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion, Kan. 66861.

 

Irma Reznicek

Irma Reznicek, 88, died Thursday, Oct. 2, at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

A funeral mass is scheduled at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8, both at Holy Family Parish, St. John Nepomucene Church in Pilsen.

Visitation will be held with family present from 3 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. Rosary is at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday.

Memorials have been established with Father Kapaun Guild or St. Luke Living Center in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion, Kan. 66861.

She was born May 31, 1920, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Oborny) Holub. She was married to John C. Reznicek Sept. 9, 1942, who preceded her in death in 2001.

She was also preceded in death by a son, John F.; two daughters, Elaine Stika and Marilyn; and a brother, Ernest Holub.

She is survived by her sons, Tom and wife Janet of Lawrence; Ron and wife Verena of Farmington, B.C., Canada; Ed and wife Mary Fund of Goff; Ken and wife Deb,of Burlington; and Bob of Lost Springs; daughters: Carol and husband Bob Makovec of Ramona; Mary and husband Charlie Loewen of Hillsboro, and Lori and husband John Torline of Derby; sisters Betty Stroda of Herington and Rosie Waner of Alba, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

 

Mary Jane Woody

Mary Jane Woody, 75, of Morris, Okla., died Friday, Oct. 3, in Sapulpa, Okla.

Services were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Trinity Baptist Church. Interment followed at Lackey Cemetery in Hitchita, Okla.

Visitation was held Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6.

Memorials can be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Agape Bible Fund, P.O. Box 170, Morris, Okla.

She was born May 1, 1933 in Blount County, Tenn., to Hobart and Amy (Flinn) Flynn. She was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. Her family said she loved quilting and God.

She married Henry Woody on June 13, 1969, in Maryville, Tenn. Preceeding her in death were husband; her parents; five brothers Baxter, Paul, Carl, Jack and Arvil Flynn and two granddaughters, Amanda Catherine and Rachel Dawn.

Survivors include two daughters, Sunshine and husband Troy Rudlang ,and Connie and husband Ward Motes Jr., all of Morris; son James and wife Robin Woody of Nashville, Tenn.; four brothers Leon Flynn and wife Nadine, Wiley Flynn and wife Fern, and Mayford Flynn, all of Tennessee, and Clovis Flynn of Florida; two sisters Maxine Dave and Sue McGill and husband Harvey, all of Tennessee; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
