David H. Bowers

 

David H. Bowers, 85, retired farmer and mechanic at Hett’s Implement and Marion County Road Department, died Sept. 20.

A committal service was at 10 a.m. Sept. 23 at the Grant Township Cemetery. A funeral followed at 11 a.m. at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion.

He was born May 25, 1923, to Harvey E. and Nettie (Lininger) Bowers in Hope. On May 31, 1950, he was married to Shirley Jean Collett, who survives.

He is also survived by five sons, Greg and Mary Beth, Russell and Stephanie, Richard, Brian and Shelinda, and Daniel and Kim; four daughters, Bev and Kevin Jennison, Mary Lou and Rick Just, Betsy and Randy Bunnel and Janelle and Doug Paden; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren

 

Ruby M. Koehn

 

Ruby M. Koehn, 88, avid gardener, died Sept. 15 at Susan B. Allen Hospital in El Dorado.

The funeral was Sept. 18 at Eden Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Burns. Burial was at Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery in Burns.

She was born June 23, 1920, to Phillip and Mary (Schmidt) Unruh in Carnegie, Okla. On June 1, 1941, she was married to Jake Koehn, who survives in Burns.

She is also survived by daughters Arlene Koehn of Burns, and Nelda and Laurel Koehn of Farmington, Ky.; son Roy and Sharlene Koehn of Las Vegas, N.M.; brother Willie and Dorothy Unruh of Howard; sisters Erma and Harvey Koehn and Vera and Dean Schmidt, all of Potwin; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

 

Lawrence Kueser

 

Lawrence D. “Larry” Kueser, 65, of Canton, commercial truck driver, died Sept. 20 in Maramec, Okla.

No service is planned. A gathering for family and friends to pay respects and share memories will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Kueser home, 508 S. Main, Canton.

He was born Dec. 25, 1942, in Ellsworth. On June 13, 1963, he was married to Billie Jean Wright, who survives.

He is also survived by sons William D. of Seattle, Wash., Troy A., Thomas L. and Kenneth J. and wife Tina, all of Canton; mother-in-law Mable Wright of Canton; and one grandchild.

A memorial fund has been established with Canton Christian Church in care of Olson’s Mortuary, Canton.

Alberta Pritz

 

Alberta M. “Bertie” Pritz, 67, died Sept. 19 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 24 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincolnville. Burial will be at the Lincolnville Cemetery.

She was born June 10, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo. She was adopted by Bertha (Boettcher) Ulrich, who predeacesed her.

She is survived by friend Willard Hett of Marion, children Michael and Beulah of San Antonio, Robin Pritz and companion Pat Love of Lost Springs, and Maurice Jr. of Wichita; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.
