In a game of musical chairs, of sorts, five Hillsboro businesses are moving to new locations.

Accounting + Financial Initiative LLC moved from its rear office space to a front suite at 104 E. First St.

The primary reason for the move was to gain more space, said owner Bryce Wichert, whose business will mark its one-year anniversary Sept. 1.

Because offices at the East First Street building were renumbered, his remains Suite C with the phone number 620-947-3976.

Leaving its location at 103 N. Main St. to occupy Wichert’s old office space will be Steve Smith, whose company’s name has changed to SBS Financial Services from Professional Planning Services.

Smith decided to move, he said, because he had more space than needed at the previous location. Smith is open for business at the new location, Suite B, 104 E. First. The phone number is 620-947-3039.

North Main Street businesses can welcome a new neighbor.

Sorb Computers moved Monday from the Insurance Center building at 105 S. Main to the storefront at 127 N. Main, next door to Silver Shears barber shop.

“Basically I’d like a little bit larger place,” said Brad Schweitzer, who assumed ownership of Sorb Feb. 1. “I’m excited about having a storefront to be able to offer specials.”

Sorb sells and services computers in-store as well as makes house calls, Schweitzer said.

The office phone is 620-947-2000.

Marc Penner, who handles investment and retirement planning with Waddell & Reed, is moving from the space he’s shared with Fast Reality at 102 S. Main.

Within in the next week or two, Penner said his office will be located around the corner at 105 E. Grand, which has been occupied by the Hillsboro Star-Journal.

Penner has worked with Waddell & Reed for 11⁄2 years. Michele Allen works part-time as office manager.

In the meantime, effective this week, the Star-Journal will have its newspapers available for pick up at Fast Reality until a permanent location is decided.

“We’re still looking,” said Susan Berg, staff reporter for the Star-Journal.
