Ted Dielman, 68

 

Ted E. Dielman, 68, retired University of Michigan professor, formerly of Canton, died June 29 at his home in Green Valley, Ariz.

The memorial service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Canton Christian Church. A private committal service of cremated remains in Canton Township Cemetery preceded the service.

He was born Aug. 15, 1939, to Frederick and Hazel Farrell Dielman in Kansas City, Mo.

Survivors include his wife, Debra of Green Valley; two sons, Steven of Falls Church, Va., and Christopher of Flagstaff, Ariz.; his mother, Hazel Critchlow of Canton; a brother, Terry Dielman of Colleyville, Texas; a stepbrother, Joe Critchlow of Clearwater; his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Golden of Green Valley; his brother-in-law, James Golden of Green Valley and his canine companion, Mickey.

Memorials have been established with Green Fields Country Day School and Sharon United Methodist Church of Manchester, Mich., in care of Olson’s Mortuary at 139 N. Main, P.O. Box 355, Canton, KS 67428.

 

George Evans, 81

 

George C. Evans, 81, retired oil field pumper and U.S. Navy veteran, died July 1 at his home in Canton.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. July 3 at First Baptist Church in Canton. Burial was in Canton Township Cemetery.

He was born June 27, 1927, to Charles V. and Sarah Jane (Hart) Evans in McPherson. On June 26, 1949, he was married to Doris Ruth Rogers, who survives.

Survivors also include four daughters, Kathleen Fischer of Axtell, Paula Taylor of Emporia, Julie Jantz of Tampa and Sharon Ackerman of Seneca; a sister, Joetta Jones of Lompoc, Calif.; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and his canine companion, Lizzie.

A memorial has been established with Maxwell Wildlife Refuge in care of Olson’s Mortuary in Canton.

 

Marjorie Rediker, 78

 

Marjorie Faye Rediker, 78, nurse and farmer, died July 2 at Salem Nursing Home in Hillsboro.

The service was at 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, at First Baptist Church of Durham, with pastor Curtis Wiens officiating. Burial was in Durham Park Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 17, 1930, to Clarence Victor Lorenz and Esther Evelyn Rauh at McPherson. On April 3, 1948, she was married to Marvin, A. Rediker, who survives. She is also survived by son Randy and Jacque Rediker of Cody, Wyo., daughter Shari and Jim Hand of Wichita and four grandchildren.
