Funk-JimJeanieAnn.jpg Funks plan 50th anniversary

Jim and Jeanie Funk of Marion will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary July 6 with family.

They were married July 6, 1958, at Brudertal Mennonite Church, rural Hillsboro. Jim is a farmer and Jeanie works at Countryside Feed in Hillsboro.

Children are Joy Encinias of Wichita, Lonnie and Shawn Funk of Manhattan and Gail Funk of Topeka. They have three grandchildren.


Guhr-Anniversary.jpg Guhrs to celebrate 60 years July 5

The children of Herb and Doris Guhr are hosting an open house to celebrate their 60th anniversary from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 5, in the fellowship hall of Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe.

The couple request no gifts.



Graber.jpg Grabers mark golden anniversary

Paul and Norma Graber celebrated 50 years of marriage by spending the day in Wichita with their family, a highlight being a visit to the Sedgwick County Zoo.

The couple also took a five-day cruise. Their children will host a barbecue at a later date.

Paul Graber and Norma Thiesen were married June 14, 1958, at Tabor Mennonite Church, near Goessel.

Paul retired after 17 years with Norcraft Co. in Newton and now enjoys fishing, woodworking and stained-glass projects.

Norma retired after 33 years from Crossroads Credit Union in Goessel. Among her many hobbies is quilt making, having made several quilts for her family.

The couple’s children are Sheri and Scott Bonnet of Emporia, Jerry and Linda Graber of rural Newton and Diane and Fred Unruh, near Goessel.

They also have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
