The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with pastor Charles Grant officiating. A private family burial is planned.

He was born Sept. 10, 1913, to Anton and Maria (Nickel) Knak at Hillsboro. On May 15, 1942, he was married to Martha Groening, who predeceased him.

He is survived by a daughter, Rose Marie and husband Bob Perrill of Tucson, Ariz.; one son, Merle of Hillsboro; a sister, Mildred Jantz of Hillsboro; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established with Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
