Numerous awards and scholarships involving the Hillsboro High School Class of 2008 were announced during commencement on May 18.
Co-winners of the John A. and Harriet Kizler Wiebe Good Citizen Scholarship were Meghan Jost and Maria Loewen. Each student will receive a scholarship of $3,000 to assist them with their college education.
The scholarship was established with an initial endowment of $200,000 in 1991 by HHS alums John and Harriet Wiebe to honor the faculty and graduating seniors in the class of 1941.
In addition to the two winners, the field of nine finalists included Mathew Brown, Spencer Brown, Alex Jost, Jenesa Klose, Jessica Klose, Amber Loewen, Maria Loewen and Jandi Loewen.
