Producers can conduct FSA business on line PDF Print E-mail
Written by Bill Harmon /Farm Service Agency

If you have Internet access and an e-mail account, it is possible for you to conduct your FSA/USDA business online through an e-Authentication or eAuth account.

The primary or first level of access allows producers to customize a Web portal page for specific information about USDA and participate in public surveys for a USDA agency.

The advanced or Level 2 access allows producers to conduct official electronic business transactions, enter into contracts with USDA agencies and submit program forms electronically via the Internet.

With a Level 2 account, a producer can also access their current and historical financial information (i.e., payments, CCC-1099Gs, etc.) conservation plan information, farm loan status and enhancements to aerial maps and GIS data.

In order to self-register for an eAuth account, individuals should visit the Web site at www.eauth.egov.usda.gov. The system will require you to create a log-on ID and password and register your name, mailing and emailing addresses.

In addition, you will be required to add the following to your profile: phone numbers, Mother’s maiden name, create a PIN number, identify and answer your security questions.

After you submit the profile on-line, you will receive a confirmation email. You must respond to the e-mail within seven days.

Individuals must visit a local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office in person for identity proofing. You will need to take one of the following: a federally issued government ID, state issued photo driver’s license, U.S. passport, or U.S. military ID, with you to the nearest FSA office most convenient to you for identity proofing.

Once activated, your USDA eAuth account is safe, secure, and accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Bill Harmon is exeuctive director of the the FSA office for Marion County.
