Several high school seniors from Marion County were selected to attend the 25th annual Governor’s Scholars Award Program May 4 in Topeka.
Mathew Brown from Hillsboro High School, Juli Rziha from Centre High and Sabrina Renee Hamilton of Canton-Galva High were among those invited.
The ceremony honors the top 1 percent of Kansas high school seniors from accredited public and private schools in the state.
The program is coordinated for Gov. Kathleen Sebelius by the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force. It is funded by donations from the Kansas Bankers association and other private-sector businesses in Kansas.
