Members of the Marion City Council used most of their Monday night meeting time to tour progress at the indoor swimming pool being built in a partnership between the city and the school district. In the left photo, council members Bill Holdeman (left) and Gene Winkler share perspectives near the deep end of the pool basin. Above: City Administrator David Mayfield shows the council where a drainage pond capable of holding water up to 5 feet deep in the park across from the new pool will be built. The water won’t stay because the pond will be designed to let it seep away. Pictured from left are Mayfield, Winkler, Holdeman, Mayor KMary Olson, Economic Development Director Jami Williams, Councilor Stacey Collett and, behind them, City Clerk Angela Lange.
