After losing her husband to cancer, author Carol Muller met Monroe Funk, who had lost his wife to a brain tumor.

The active retirees met and were married but found few resources to help them make the inevitable adjustments to remarriage in their golden years. So Muller-Funk wrote a book on the subject herself, titled “Golden Love.”

Muller-Funk, of Salina, will share some of the joys and surprises of remarriage in her presentation “Golden Love” at the Tabor College 60+ Learning in Retirement Program at 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, in the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center.

The story of Muller and Funk is well known to many longtime Marion County residents. He grew up in the county, graduated from Tabor College, and served on its board of directors.

She taught school and raised her family in Minneapolis, Kan., and later moved to Salina.

They were married Jan. 19, 2002.

The public is welcome to attend all Learning in Retirement programs. Fees are $3 per session or $15 per semester ($28 per couple).

Registration and discount cards for lunch in the cafeteria will be available at the door during the half hour before the meeting.
