A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15 at Tabor Mennonite Church, rural Goessel. Burial will precede service at 10 a.m. at Tabor Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 14 at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel.

She was born Oct. 18, 1919, to Abram and Maria (Schroeder) Boese in Goessel. On Sept. 3, 1948, she was married to Elmer Schmidt, who predeceased her.

She is survived by a son, Glen and Marie Schmidt of Salt Lake City, Utah; two daughters, Janice Schmidt and Joel Worthington of Excelsior, Minn., and Diana and Gary Roberts of Conway, Ark.; brothers Alvin Boese of Lehigh, Ralph Boese of Spokane, Wash.; a step-brother, Dannie Schmidt of Goessel; a sister, Rosella Duerksen of Tucson, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established with Goessel Emergency Services.
