Byron McCarty retained his seat on the Hillsboro City Council by a 132-16 margin over challenger Martin Rhodes in the local elections April 1.
McCarty represents the East Ward.
Shelby Dirks, incumbent from the West Ward, received 68 votes. He was unopposed.
In
Marion, incumbent Bill Holdeman and challenger Steven Smith won the two
at-large seats on the Marion City Council. They were the top
vote-getters in a field of four.
Holdeman received 226, Smith 201, Gerald Henderson 193 and Katherin DeFilippis 161.
Incumbent
Jerry Kline, who was eliminated from the ballot by finishing fifth in
the primary election, received 167 write-in votes, as canvassed by the
county commission on Monday.
