Canton Grocery to cut ribbon this Saturday

The public is invited to the grand opening and ribbon-cutting for the new Canton Grocery at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 22.

The store will host a free lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, pop and cookies.

Guests can register for a grocer dollars giveaway door prices, sponsored by the Canton Chamber of Commerce.

Real Estate Center now a Brooke Bank agent

The Real Estate Center in Hillsboro is now a Brooke Savings Bank agent location. The transaction between Bank of the West and Brooke Savings Bank became effective Jan. 18.

Brooke Savings Bank is chartered in Kansas with its home office in Phillipsburg and an administrative office in Overland Park.

Wituk, Jost take course on ethics of massage

Certified massage therapists Carol Wituk, St. Luke Integrated Health Care Clinic, and Kimber­lee Jost, Hillsboro Community Medical Center Massage Therapy, attended a continuing education course on the ethics of massage March 1 at Johnson County Community College.

Topics included industry standards, laws, morals, rules and regulations. Role-playing and example scenarios were used. The six-hour course fulfilled the ethics portion of the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork’s requirement for recertification.

Marion County native named Mayo director

Jeff T. Mueller, a Marion County native, has been appointed medical director at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, effective Jan. 1.

Mueller, a consultant in the department of anesthesiology, has been with Mayo Clinic in Arizona since 1999.

Mueller succeeds Richards S. Zimmerman, who served for 10 years as the first medical director of Mayo Clinic Hospital.
