Alva F. “Tommy” Thompson, 81, U.S. Postal Service employee and school bus driver, died March 15.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 at Marion Christian Church. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
He was born May 10, 1923, to Alva L. and Edith (Perkins) Thompson in Augusta. On Dec. 16, 1946, he was married to Elizabeth L. “Betty” Frazier, who survives in Marion.
He is also survived by two daughters, Melody and Jim Keazer of Rogers, Ark., and Renda and Randy Robertson of North Newton; brothers, Darrell and Lucille and Lavonne, all of McPherson; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established with Marion Christian Church in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Marion, KS 66861.
