David J. Classen, 92, former motel proprietor and accountant, died Feb. 24 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. Burial will be prior to the service at 10 a.m. at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.
Visitation with family present will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
He was born July 13, 1915, to John L. and Mary Reimer Classen in Meade. On April 3, 1938, he was married to Martha K. Friesen, who predeceased him in 1998.
He is survived by a son, Paul and Judy Classen of Newton; a daughter, Janice and Steve Fast of Wichita; a daughter-in-law, Jocelyn Classen of Marion; two sisters, Nettie Hooley of Ohio and Selma Ulbrich of Nevada; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
