About us: The floorcovering industry has evolved tremendously in the 30 years we have been in business. Although, carpeting still provides a large share of our sales, the trend toward hard surfaces has exploded. We continue to sell more wood, laminate, ceramic tile and natural stones as well as luxury vinyl tiles. Vinyl flooring has undergone amazing changes. With the increased attention on plastic laminate flooring, the vinyl industry has been affected. To compete with the laminate flooring, the vinyl manufacturers have created products that don’t have to be glued down, eliminating the need for underlayment and expensive prep-work in most cases. The patterns, colors and textures available in these products are amazing. The biggest change in the industry is the move toward “green” products and sustainability. Our largest supplier of carpeting, Shaw Industries, is now making products constructed with Nylon 6, a recyclable carpet fiber. Carpets made of this fiber are capable of being returned to carpet production. We just attended the 2008 Floorcovering Market in Las Vegas and green was everywhere. In hard surfaces, bamboo is perhaps one of the most sustainable products. We specialize in ceramic tile design and installation. Custom showers, complete with benches and niches are not only for their aesthetics, but also to create handicap accessibility. Professional design and installation is as critical to our business as the products we sell. We also provide professional carpet cleaning using Bane-Clene equipment.
