Canton-Galva vs. Goessel—The Bluebirds took a 24-22 lead into halftime and used a 15-3 third quarter to seize control of the game.

Led by Ted Regehr, the Eagles put together a 14-7 rally in the fourth during which Regher scored seven of his 20 points on the night.

Nathan Ensz scored six of his 21 during the decisive third frame, and carried Goessel with 11 of the team’s 13 during the second period.

Centre—Chase County edged Centre 53-50 Saturday. The Cougars trailed 26-24 at halftime.

Chase County pushed its lead to 40-35 after three frames, and did just enough in the fourth to make its lead stand up.

Ben Krause scored five of his 7 points during the fourth. Bryant Brunner led the team with 13 points, and Zach Slayden scored 11.

The Cougars topped Solomon 69-65 on the road Feb. 11. Trevor Troutt led the team with 16 points.

He was followed by Krause (15), Brunner (14) and Brian Burhoop (12). Burhoop knocked down three 3-pointers during Centre’s 26-17 run in the third quarter and finished 4-for-5 from the perimeter.

Wakefield got the best of the Cougars, 87-65, Feb. 12. Troutt scored 21 points.

Canton-Galva—Despite 16 points from Destin Nightengale and 14 from Ted Regehr, Berean defeated the Eagles 69-40 Feb. 12 in Canton.

CGHS trailed by three after the first quarter and came out on the short end of an 18-11 second quarter. Nightengale scored 14 in the fourth quarter.

Goessel—Ell Saline proved small competition, falling to the Bluebirds by a score of 56-25 Feb. 12 in Goessel.

Nathan Ensz shot 5-for-8 at the foul line in the first half and finished with a game-high 13 points.

GHS took a 32-11 lead into halftime and never looked back.

Craig Banman scored 10 points, and four others scored six or more: Kendall Voth (6), Seth Ott (8), Weston Hiebert (8) and Austin Unruh (7).
