Sara Renee Houdyshell and Randall Garrett Batman were married at 5 p.m. Sept. 29 at the home of the bride’s parents near Lincolnville.
Pastor S. Philip Smith officiated the outdoor ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Roy and Judy Houdyshell of Lincolnville. She is the granddaughter of Ervin (Mike) and LaVona Loveless of Antelope, and the late George and Idella Houdyshell of Marion.
The groom is the son of Jody Batman and the late Robert Batman of Oklahoma, and Nancy Diepenbrock of Valley Center. He is the grandson of Minnie Batman and the late Bryant Batman of Valley Center.
The matron of honor was Ashton Smith, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Alisha Loveless and Nichole VanWart, cousins of the bride, and Rachel Vilander, friend of the bride. Flower girls were Haley Plenert and Lexi Stembel, cousins of the bride.
Best man was Justin Diepenbrock, brother of the broom. Groomsmen were John Ducommon, cousin of the groom, Matt Miller and Kyle Bakker, friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Hagen Honas, cousin of the bride.
The ushers were Chuck Leighton and Seth Houston, brothers-in-law of the groom. Parking attendants were Janson Tomes and Dustin Suffield.
Samantha Potter, cousin of the bride, was guestbook attendant.
The bride wore a light-gold taffeta A-line pick-up skirt with beaded shirred bodice and a chapel length train. The bridesmaids and matron of honor wore satin truffle floor length gowns of various styles. The flower girls wore light-gold floor-length gowns.
Following the ceremony, a dinner, reception and dance were held in the Lincolnville Community Center, which was decorated in the autumn theme and colors of the wedding.
The “Batman” series theme song was played as the couple arrived at the reception in the bed of the bride’s father’s 1946 chevrolet pickup. The couple’s first dance was “Lost in this Moment” by Big and Rich. The father-daughter dance was “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw.
The bride is employed as a graphic designer at FastSigns of Topeka. She will graduate from Washburn University this year.
The groom is employed by Lowry Construction of Topeka.
Following a honeymoon to Vail, Colo., the couple resides in Topeka.
