Lester F. Schmidt, 76, farmer, died Feb. 17 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 21 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel. Burial will be prior to the service at 10 a.m.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Miller Funeral Home, 303 Main, Goessel, with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
On Sept. 12, 1951, he was married to his high school sweetheart, Esther Boese, who survives.
He is also survived by four daughters, Gail and Harry Lauri of Olathe, Barbara and Tom Van Slyke of Manhattan, Debbie and Dave Schrag of Goessel, Joann and Dave Adams of Benbrook, Texas; a brother, Randolph Schmidt; two sisters, Alda Wedel and Sophie Brown; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial funds have been established with Mennonite Central Committee and Bethesda Home in care of Miller Funeral Home.
