Esther Plenert, 93, former school cook, died Feb. 7 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11 at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro. She will be buried at 2 p.m. at Johannestal Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10 at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
She was born March 18, 1914, to Peter Schmidt and Eva Goertz Schmidt in Lehigh. On March 18, 1934, she was married to Edwin Plenert, who predeceased her.
She is survived by two sons, Jerald and Sherry Plenert and Allen and Karen Plenert, all of Canton; a sister, Dorothy and Bob Laird of McPherson; a sister-in-law, Lynnette Schmidt of Newton; five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial funds have been established with Trinity Mennonite Church or the American Diabetes Association.
