Velma L. Dyck Jantzen, 75, of Hesston, a retired schoolteacher, died Jan. 14 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
Velma L. Dyck Jantzen, 75, of Hesston, a retired schoolteacher, died Jan. 14 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
A service is planned for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Meridian Church, rural Hesston, with ministers Eldon Wenger and Shawn Giesel officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
A service also is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at the Cimarron Mennonite Church with burial following at the Cimarron Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
She was born April 18, 1932, to Jacob Dyck and Fannie Yost Dick at Hesston. On Jan. 31, 1988, she was married to Melvin Jantzen, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Scott of Wichita and Daniel of Colorado; a daughter, Lea, and husband Stuart Isaac of Durham; two brothers, John Dyck of Hesston and Kenneth Dyck of Newton; two sisters, Neva Schmidt of Moundridge and Margaret Ensz of Inman; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Harold Dyck of Hesston; and two grandchildren.
