Henry and Verda Wedel of Goessel will be celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Goessel Mennonite Church. A short program will be presented at 3 p.m.
The couple were married Jan. 10, 1958, at the Goessel Mennonite Church. Henry is retired after 45 years of employment at Hesston Corp., now known as Agco. Verda worked for 30 years at Goessel Elementary School.
The reception will be hosted by Ron and Becky Wedel, Tim and Katie Wedel, Bob and Eileen Wedel and Daryl and Jacque Wedel. Grandchildren are Angela and Rhett Neufeld, Mindy and Matt Nuce, all of Hesston, Megan and Chad Wedel of Goessel, Lacy and Josh Lowder of Aberdeen, Ind., Austin, Derek and Jason Wedel of Dayton, Ind. The couple also have two great-grandchildren.
Scharenbergs mark 65th anniversary
Leo and Dorothy (Lewis) Scharenberg of Hillsboro will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Jan. 11.
The couple were married Jan. 11, 1943, in Marion.
They have four children, Clarice and Tom Alexander of Lincoln, Neb., Micki and Jerry Siebert of Cedar Point, Dr. Dennis and Phyllis Scharenberg of Wichita, and Leon Scharenberg of Newton.
