The Eagles outpaced the Warriors 32-20 Friday night. After scoring a field goal and a foul shot during a 9-8 first quarter, Canton-Galva guard Allie Enns gave the Eagles a big lift in the second.
Enns hit a 2-pointer, then consecutive 3-pointers and another 2-point shot, tallying all 10 points during a 10-2 run that put the Warriors in a 19-10 hole headed into halftime.
Enns did not score in the second half, but still turned in a game-high 13 points.
Kaitlyn Bressie scored a pair of 2-point shots in the period and finished with 7 as Canton-Galva’s second leading scorer.
Kylie Haines scored 6 points, Ashley Vogts notched 5, and Kaycie Shearer chipped in a foul shot to round out the Eagles scoring.
Led by five points from Julie Wedel, Peabody-Burns staked a 9-8 claim to the frame. But the Warriors were unable to close the gap in the fourth quarter, scoring only on a 2-point shot by Becky Morris.
Morris and Wedel led Peabody-Burns with 5 points apiece. Tabitha O’Neal and Danielle Savage each scored 4 points. Jessica Gillet chipped in with a pair of foul shots.
