Hagen, Thiessen celebrate marriage

HagenThiessenWedding.jpg Melanie Hagen and Phillip Thiessen, both of Hillsboro, were married at a 5 p.m. ceremony Sept. 8 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor Bill Damberg officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Roger and Helen Hagen of Hillsboro. The groom is the son of Pam Ratzlaff of Hillsboro and Walt Thiessen of Wichita.

Maid of honor was Mindy Ruck. Bridesmaids were Amanda Hagen, Cheryl Prieb and Sara Wesner. The flower girls were Sadie McDonald and Madison Ruck.

Best man was Anthony Thiessen. Groomsmen were Brian Nickel, Nathan Fish and Ronn Coates. The ring bearer was Jacob Thiessen.

Ushers were Brice Hagen and Jason Pschigoda.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Hillsboro America Legion.

The bride is a graduate of Kansas State University and is employed at Mid Kansas Co-op. The groom is employed at Klassen Dairy Inc.

Following a honeymoon to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple resides in Hillsboro.


McKillip, Greenhaw marry July 28

McKillipGreenhawWedding1425.jpg Ashley Nicole McKillip of Hayes Center, Neb., and Carson Aden Greenhaw of Littleton, Colo., were married at 4 p.m. July 28 at Hamlet Union Church, Hamlet, Neb., with pastor Stephen Humber of Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church of Hillsboro officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Tim and Cindy McKillip of Hayes Center, Neb. The groom is the son of Steve and Lou Greenhaw of Lynden, Wash., formerly of Hillsboro.

Maid of honor was Amber McKillip. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Vogts, Amy Cox and Amanda Cox. Flower girls were Ruth Greenhaw and Lillias McKillip.

Best man was Cameron Greenhaw. Groomsmen were Rob Haude, Jake Schenk and Lee Waldron. Ring bearer was Wesley Wach.

The ushers were Austin McKillip, Ty Messersmith, Brian Durowaiye, Lane Frick and Michael Beach.

Special people in attendance were Dennis and Pat Greenhaw, Don and Carey Harrison, and Loran and Nancy Wach.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of bride’s parents.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Hayes Center High School and a 2007 graduate from Tabor College with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and communication.

She is also a graduate of Focus on the Family and is currently a student at Denver Seminary.

The groom is a 2002 graduate of Hillsboro High School and a 2006 graduate from Tabor College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Following a honeymoon to Charleston, S.C., the couple resides in Littleton, Colo.
