The Hillsboro Wrestling Club for kids between 5 and 16 years of age held an informational meeting for parents at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the technology lecture center at Hillsboro High School.
The meeting addressed signing up wrestlers, collecting fees and discussing the upcoming season.
Parents who could not attend the meeting should contact Scott O’Hare, club director, at 947-2378 to make arrangements to sign up and pay fees prior to the first practice at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12.
O’Hare, who is head wrestling coach at Hillsboro High School, will be assisted by USA Bronze Level certified coaches Shawn Edwards and Mark King.
Last year, about 35 active wrestlers participated in the program. The club hosted its ninth tournament, and numerous wrestlers over the past several years have qualified to compete in the Kansas State Championship Wrestling Tournament.
