Willard S. Dirksen, farmer, died Oct. 15 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
The funeral was Oct. 18 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel. He was buried in Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery.
He was born April 6, 1931, to John and Alice (Schmidt) Dirksen in Goessel. On Oct. 16, 1991, he was married to Maribeth Iserhardt, who survives.
He is also survived by a son, Calvin and Carol Dirksen of rural Moundridge; four stepsons, Peter Neufeld of Newton, Gregory and Dwoung Neufeld of Cambodia, Martin and Noi Neufeld of Tuscan, Ariz., and Jeremy and Kim Neufeld of Wichita; a daughter, Jo and Ed Fletchall of Wichita; four grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Nathan Fast, 31
Nathan Fast, 31, a cook at Carlos O’Kelly’s in Hutchinson, died Oct. 13 in rural Harvey County.
The funeral was Oct. 19 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. He was buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
He was born June 12, 1976, to Richard Fast, who predeceased him, and Donna Whitney in Newton.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, David Withiam of Newton; two sisters, Robin and Darrell Grosch of Newton, and Megan Withiam of Newton; grandparents, Donald and Ellen Whitney, and Stanley and Edna Lee Withiam, all of Newton; and a niece.
Katherine Musick
Katherine “Katie” Musick, 101, homemaker, died Oct. 17 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
The funeral was Oct. 20 at Canton United Methodist Church. She was buried in the Ebenfeld Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
She was born July 10, 1906, to Conrad and Mollie Lipps Schwabauer in Russia. In 1928 she was married to Abe Seibel, who predeceased her in 1952. On Nov. 21, 1963, she was married to Ernest “Hap” Musick, who predeceased her in 1994.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Moorhead of Placerville, Calif., Liz Hein of Waco, Texas, and Rosie Williams of Allen, Texas; a brother, Theodore Schwabauer of Canton; 10 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial funds have been established with Canton United Methodist Church and the Canton Senior Center in care of Olson’s Mortuary of Canton.
Emil Pospisil, 96
Emil Pospisil, 96, retired farmer and Gard’N Wise employee, died Oct. 18 at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.
The funeral was Oct. 23 at Downing and Lahey East Chapel in Wichita. He was buried at White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita.
He was born June 5, 1911, to Alois J. and Frances C. Benda Pospisil in rural Lost Springs. On Nov. 17, 1962, he was married to Dorothy Farrar, who predeceased him in 1996.
He is survived by a stepson, Ralph and Iris Farrar of Ferndale, Wash.; a step son-in-law, Noel Pollard of Newton; four sisters, Evelyn Strecker of Lost Springs, Stella and Max Kohler of Silver Springs, Md., Victoria Zell of Shelby, Mont., and Lorena and Bob Pospisil of Libuse, La.; and two step-grandchildren.
Edna Winter, 92
Edna Alvina Winter, 92, homemaker, died Oct. 16 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.
The funeral was Oct. 22 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Marion. She was buried at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hillsboro.
She was born June 15, 1915, to George and Emma Zetwig Yauk in Durham. On March 31, 1940, she was married to Walter Winter, who predeceased her in 1988.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine and Bill Stoltenberg of Marion; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial funds have been established with Lutheran Braille Workers and Our Saviour Lutheran Church.
