Needing one victory in their final two regular-season games to seal a playoff spot, the Tabor College men’s soccer team lost its final games of the season to Sterling (1-0) and Kansas Wesleyan (3-0). But Tabor qualified for post-season play when Southwestern, Ottawa and Saint Mary each lost its final regular-season finale. On Saturday, a goal by Warriors forward Ryan Covey proved the difference in a 1-0 contest. On Wednesday, the Coyotes downed the Bluejays 3-0 behind a goal and an assist from Jose Garay. The men finished 3-6 in regular season games and play at Bethel at 7:30 p.m.
For the women, a 9-0 loss to Kansas Wesleyan and a 5-2 loss to Sterling ended their season. Leading scorer Jessica Burden was shut out by KWU, but tallied both of Tabor’s goals in the season finale. Tabor finished 0-9 in conference play.
