Tabor front-liners Beth Romero (left) and Jordan Crosson alter the direction of Ottawa outside hitter Jenny Heck’s hit on Tuesday. After besting the Braves (30-18, 28-30, 30-27, 30-17) at home Sept. 27 for their fourth conference win, the Bluejays traveled to Oklahoma City for a four-team non-conference tournament over the weekend. The Bluejays defeated MidAmerica Nazarene (30-18, 27-30, 30-19, 23-30, 15-7) before dropping three in a row to even their season record at 10-10. Tabor lost to Oklahoma City (18-30, 21-30, 15-30), tournament host Southern Nazarene (28-30, 27-30, 21-30) and Evangel (24-30, 24-30, 25-30). The Bluejays were scheduled to return to KCAC action at Sterling Oct. 2. Tabor continues the road trip this week, swinging through Winfield for their first meeting with Southwestern on Thursday, then opening the second half of conference play at McPherson Oct. 8.
