Peabody-Burns

The Warriors went to Remington looking to exact a pound of flesh for the streak-ending loss the Broncos inflicted a season ago, but came away with 42-6 loss on Friday night.

PBHS was held without a score for 31⁄2 quarters, until Nathan Bishop scored on a 1-yard run.

Remington quarterback Cole Cherryholmes ran for 59 for a touchdown and threw to Andrew McNary for two more.

For PBHS, Bishop ran for 46 rushing yards, Trevor Hamm added 75 and Ben Eldridge 21.

Peabody-Burns plays Hutchinson Trinity at 7 p.m. Friday night at home.

Canton-Galva

The Eagles downed the Teutons 29-22 at Inman Friday. CGHS faces off with Sedgwick at home Friday.

Centre

The Cougars were overmatched at home against Claflin, dropping a 50-0 decision to perennially potent Wildcats.

CHS posted 7 yards on 11 carries in addition to 8 yards on 15 pass attempts.

Centre will play at Quivera Heights on Friday.

Goessel

The Bluebirds blew past the Burrton Chargers 60-0 on Friday. Craig Banman scored on runs of 11, 14 and 40 yards in the first quarter and 5 yards touchdown in the second.

In between Banman’s second and third touchdown runs, Weston Hiebert recovered a fumble and returned it for a defensive touchdown. Then Austin Unruh added three more scores.

Unruh completed a 47-yard pass to Fensky and broke runs of 23 and 59 yards in succession to push Goessel’s lead from 28-0 to 52-0.

Unruh passed for three 2-point conversions and ran for another. Banman and Stultz each converted once.

The Bluebirds take aim at Little River this week, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. Friday at Goessel.
