Two Waco, Texas, high school classmates have signed letters of intent to participate in the Tabor College track and field program this coming year.

Warren McKamey Jr., who also plans to compete in cross country, is 6 foot 3 inches, 158-pounds. He ran the 200 meters, 400 meters, long jump and triple jump at Connally High School in Waco.

McKamey was a regional qualifier every year of his high school career, and was captain of his team as a senior.

“I believe Warren will add a lot to our men’s team both on the track and on campus,” said Dave Kroeker, Tabor track and field coach. “We’re looking for him to make a real impact in middle distance races and on our relay teams,” Kroeker added.

Meanwhile, Jacob Story, 6-1, 176, ran the 200 and 400 at Connally High. He also ran on his team’s sprint medley and mile relays. In addition, Story was a standout linebacker in football.

“I’m excited to have Jacob on our track team and look for him to make an immediate contribution on our relay teams and the 200-meters,” Kroeker said.
