Stan Utting, Hillsboro, posted a two-day total of 145 to claim first place out of the field of 33 participants at the Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course club championship Aug. 4-5.
Utting reached the clubhouse in 72 on Saturday and shot 73 on Sunday to edge Anthony Thiessen by two strokes.
Thiessen took second place in the championship flight by matching an opening-round 73 with a 74-shot performance the second day of the event for a total of 147.
Scott O’Hare finished third with a two-day total of 151.
Jerry Dorsey won the first flight with a score of 158. Mike Padgett won the second flight with a 163. Harvey Ray tallied 170 to claim the top spot in the third flight.
