Natalie Lynn Wait, Kansas City, and Joshua Kyle Ashley, Goessel, were married March 17 at 2:30 p.m. at Nall Avenue Church of the Nazarene in Prairie Village with Robert Castile of Great Bend officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Stephanie Wait, Kansas City. The groom is the son of Frank and Joyce Ashley, Goessel.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory colored tea-length gown and carried a bouquet of tulips and roses in varying shades of lavender and green for the St. Patrick’s Day affair.
Maid of honor was Emily Wait, sister of the bride. Best man was Nathan Ashley, brother of the groom.
Bride’s attendants were Meredith Wait, sister of the bride, Stephanie Pape, friend of the bride and Alicia McClure, friend of the bride.
Groom’s attendants were Christopher Cast, friend of the groom, JD Ponder, friend of the groom and JP Swirczynski, friend of the groom.
Gift table attendants were Megan Heard Cornish and Sally Heard, cousins of the bride. The cake table was hosted by Teresa Harding, friend of the bride.
A reception followed the ceremony, hosted by the bride’s parents. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple had a display of cupcakes. Josh Parks and his band, Dying Breed, entertained the guests with a mix of rock ‘n’ roll and blues music.
The bride is an Emporia State University graduate with a degree in integrated studies. She plans to continue her studies in education to be a high school teacher.
The groom graduated from Emporia State University with a degree in earth science. He received his master’s in environmental engineering from the University of Kansas. He is employed by Terracon as an industrial hygienist in Lenexa.
Following a honeymoon to Chicago, the couple resides in Kansas City, Mo.
