Chad Newhard has been hired as head baseball coach at Tabor College. Newhard will also serve as an instructor in physical education.
Newhard brings eight years of college coaching experience to Tabor.
He spent the past three years as assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (Ind.), a Division I NCAA program.
Earlier in his career, Newhard coached at Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville, Mich. While there, Newhard posted a record of 66-39, achieving a top-15 national ranking in NJCAA Division II.
Tabor Athletic Director Don Brubacher said, “I am very impressed with coach Newhard’s baseball background and his knowledge of the game.
“I am even more impressed, though, with the attitude he has about intercollegiate athletics and Christian higher education,” he added.
“I am confident he will provide the best possible leadership to our baseball program, and will also do excellent work in the classroom.”
