The Tabor College has signed five more athletes for its football program.
Timothy Sheppard of Houston, Texas, is a 6-feet, 200-pound linebacker who played for Madison High School, which posted a 14-1 record and qualified for the state semifinals.
“Timothy will be competing at an outside linebacker position,” Bluejays coach Mike Gottsch said.
“He will bring an upbeat attitude and a very solid work ethic.”
Howard R. Marine Jr. of Houston, is a 6-3, 317-pound tackle who also played at Madison High.
“Howard is a gifted athlete who has the frame, strength and size to go along with his athleticism,” Gottsch said.
LaJamal Dixon of Houston is a 5-8, 187-pound strong safety and running back out of Milby High School.
“We will look at LaJamal as an outside linebacker and possibly a strong safety,” Gottsch said. “He is a gifted athlete.”
Thomas Price of Chapman is a 5-6, 150-pound wide receiver and punt returner who earned North Central Kansas League honorable-mention honors in 2006.
“We are thrilled that Thomas has decided to attend Tabor,” Gottsch said. “He brings great enthusiasm and a passion about the game to our program.”
Ben Cutler, of Henderson, Nev., is a 5-10, 225-pound center and long snapper who earned all-conference honorable mention in 2004 and 2005. He was also named all-division second team in 2006.
“You can’t ever have too many long snappers,” Gottsch said. “He will be an excellent addition to our football program who will bring many intangibles to the program.”
