A large crowd turned out Sunday night to watch the demolition derby at the Marion County Fairgrounds arena.

Thirty-two drivers brought their 1980s relics for a shot at a piece of $2,500 in prize money.

In the end, Matt Foth and Brad Foth of Hillsboro each brought a 1992 Crown Victoria and left with bragging rights and prize money.

Brad Foth, the No. 87 car still rolling when the final red flag flew, drove away in first place and with the $600 top prize.

Matt Foth’s bid for the top spot was extinguished when a small fuel fire brought firefighters onto the track to put out his car No. 33.

Brad Foth’s trip to the final followed his win in the first heat. Scott Schultz (5) also advanced from that qualifier.

Jason Hamm (16) and Philip Terrel (42) qualified in the second heat. Jesse Hamm (71) and Timothy Pritchfield (83) qualified in the third, and Matt Druse (44) and Chad Hamm (7) in the fourth.

Three consolation heats added six more: Derek Euwer (80e), Jeff Wendt (E911), Matt Foth (33), Jeremy Prater (22J), Russell Klenda (4) and Brad Doughman (75).

Pritchfield claimed third in the final, with Chad Hamm taking fourth and Doughman in fifth.
