Melissa Ann Moffitt and Shaun Robert Craft were married March 17 at Prince of Peace Parish in Olathe, with Father Frank Burger officiating.

Parents of the couple are Frank and Jan Moffitt of Hillsboro and Robert and Janet Craft of Marion. Grandparents of the couple are Glen and Olive Atkinson of Salinas, Calif., Norman Craft of Marion, Leeland Crawford and Darlene Crawford of Clay Center and the late James and Ellen “Nellie” Moffitt of Tampa and the late Joyce Craft of Marion.

The bride wore an ivory and champagne strapless gown with an intricate and heavily beaded overlay. The gown was fitted through the bodice and below the hip fell into a full, chapel-length train. She wore pearl hair pins and a fingertip-length blusher/veil accented with crystal beads. She carried a round bouquet of Sahara roses, white Stephanotis with pearl-accented centers and green ivy with champagne and ivory satin ribbon.

Matron of honor was Heather Darrow, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sara Moffitt, sister of the bride, Katie Moffitt, sister-in-law of the bride, and Sara Zogelman, Melissa Wiehe and Lisa Slavens, friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Danielle McKinsey, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids wore strapless, tea-length, black satin dresses with champagne-colored detailing and accents. They carried bouquets of Sahara roses, champagne stock and green ivy with champagne satin ribbon by Denise Matz of Marion.

Best man was Randy Crawford, uncle of the groom. Groomsmen were Anthony Craft, cousin of the groom, Jon Moffitt, brother of the bride, and Cy Prior, Noah King and Scott prior, friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Aiden Moffitt, nephew of the bride.

Guests were seated by Justin Whiteman, Dustin Delaney, Dustin Rutledge, friends of the groom, and Brad McKinsey, cousin of the groom.

Pianist was Sarah Goodin and soloist was Amanda Fruechting, friends of the bride and also bridal attendants with Erin Slattery and Angela Herzet, friends of the bride, and Julie McKinset, aunt of the bride.

Gift bearers for communion were MaryEllen McCarthy, Aileen Corbisiero and Ronda Moffitt, aunts of the bride.

A reception, dinner and dance were held following the wedding at Deer Creek Country Club in Overland Park. White tulips and candles in tiered hurricane vases decorated each table. The round, seven-tiered wedding cake was decorated with ivory satin ribbon around each layer and icing dots, with Sahara roses and white tulips atop the cake.

The bride is a graduate of Marion High School and the University of Kansas in Lawrence. She is a certified critical care registered nurse in the Cardiothoracic Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City.

The couple plan to honeymoon this June in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
