Area youth will be up early on Saturday, May 19, trimming and preparing for the yearly showing of their dairy goats at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro.
A showmanship clinic is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. led by accomplished youth showman. At this day-long event there will be the Toy, Tool and Miscellaneous drawing, a goat photography contest and exhibition, management and tool identification contest, and a goat obstacle coarse competition.
Show time begins at 9 a.m. with check in between 7 and 8:45 a.m. Breed classes available are Alpine, LaMancha, Nigerian Dwarf, Nubian, Oberhasli, Sable, Toggenberg and Recorded Grade.
